Stories in Latin
I love stories. And I love Latin. So this little posting tells stories using Latin phrases. The theme is from Cicero: "numquam se minus solum quam cum solus esset" - you are never so little alone as when you are alone. The first story is quite simple and has one theme. The second story has three themes to it, each phrase or quote labelled with a number to place it into its appropriate group.
Just for you, or you two, or even you three:
Mea mihi conscientia pluris est quam omnium sermo: My conscience means more to me than all speech
Melius tarde, quam nunquam: Better late than never
Veritas vos liberabit: The truth will set you free
And for everyone - a three part story:
[1] Cum tacent, clamant: When they remain silent, they cry out
[1] Curae leves loquuntur ingentes stupent: Minor losses can be talked away; profound ones strike us dumb
[2] Amare et sapere vix deo conceditur: Even a god finds it hard to love and be wise at the same time
[2] Tempus fugit, non autem memoria: Time flies, but not memory
[3] Cursum perficio: My journey is over
