"Click"

Sometimes there are (rare) moments in your life when everything clicks into place for even just the briefest of flashes, and time just stands still. And you lock them away in a box of memories, and press play again and again. And the rest of the world melts into the background, like a golden sunset.

How Ya Doin'?

It's a bit like when someone asks you how you are. What they want to really hear is just the one word, "Fine". Even if you are in the very pits of despair, that's all they want to hear because anything more requires commitment on their part. And for a casual 'how are you?' that's most certainly not what they want. What they want is just "Fine". And then they can be about their business without any further involvement.

I'm fine. Just fine. Thanks for asking. I'm just fine.

I guess it's time I run far, far away; find comfort in pain,
All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble.
Hides my true shape, like Dorian Gray.
I've heard what they say, but I'm not here for trouble.
It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain.

- James Blunt

I don't like pain. However, I do like rain.

Messages to 8 People - Maybe You Know Who You Are, And Maybe You Don't...

Being nice never gotcha anywhere.

People shouldn't start what they can't finish.

Never presume anything.

Even though you might not understand it now, people behave in ways that are explainable later.

Who backs you up, if you're the back up?

Sometimes it is too late.

People shouldn't fly-and-blame.

Being rude is just plain rude, bad manners, and poor upbringing.

Look inwards before looking outwards.

Don't throw stones inside glass houses.

Deep down, you know it's your own fault.

Fair weather friends - scum of the earth.

Give as much as you take.

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye (or another body part).

Words like knives.

One Tinman headed back thanks to another Tinman. That Tinman pretended a lot, but in many ways she was an absolute, but stationary, Tinman. And the third Tinman pretended he never got started then got it trampled on.

You're alone in a crowd of people.

Share and share alike.

Having everything except what you want the most.

Clinical.

Escapism.

Scandinavianesque gymmies.

You're older/in the wops/wearing blue/going nowhere.

You're younger/coming and going/neither white nor blue/maybe going some places, but probably not really.

You're younger/in the city/wearing white/estopped.

I'm younger-older-older/in the city/wearing white/going places.

The maths of human nature never adds up.
